Return, Refund & Replacement Policy

Welcome to Sattvya.

We are committed to providing high-quality handcrafted products made by skilled artisans. Our collection includes ceramic planters, copperware, brass products, wooden products, lampshades, candles, gift boxes, home décor, and other handcrafted lifestyle products.

As many of our products are handmade, each piece is unique. Minor variations in colour, finish, texture, size, grain, glaze, polish, and appearance are natural characteristics of handcrafted products and are not considered manufacturing defects.

By placing an order with Sattvya, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Return, Refund & Replacement Policy.


1. Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled only before they are dispatched from our warehouse.

Once an order has been shipped, cancellation requests cannot be accepted.

If an eligible cancellation is approved before dispatch, the refund will be processed after deducting any applicable payment gateway or transaction charges, if any.


2. Eligible Returns

We accept return requests only under the following circumstances:

  • You received an incorrect product.

  • The product arrived damaged during transit.

  • The product has a verified manufacturing defect.

  • The product delivered is materially different from the product ordered.

All return requests are subject to verification and approval by Sattvya.


3. Products Not Eligible for Return

Returns, exchanges or refunds will not be accepted for:

  • Change of mind after purchase.

  • Products that have been used, installed, washed or altered.

  • Products without original packaging, labels or accessories.

  • Customized or personalised products.

  • Corporate gifting or bulk orders, unless specifically agreed in writing.

  • Clearance, discounted or promotional sale items.

  • Candles that have been lit or used.

  • Products damaged due to misuse, improper handling, negligence, accidents or improper storage.

  • Natural ageing, oxidation or wear of copper, brass or wooden products.

  • Minor handmade variations in colour, finish, glaze, texture, grain or dimensions.


4. Handmade Product Disclaimer

Our products are handcrafted by artisans using traditional techniques.

As a result, the following are normal characteristics and should not be treated as defects:

  • Slight colour variations.

  • Minor size variations.

  • Brush strokes.

  • Natural wood grain differences.

  • Ceramic firing marks.

  • Pinholes in glaze.

  • Minor handcrafted imperfections.

  • Slight differences between product photographs and the delivered product due to lighting and screen settings.

Every handcrafted item is unique, making no two pieces exactly identical.


5. Damaged or Incorrect Products

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

Your email must include:

  • Order Number

  • Clear photographs of the unopened package

  • Shipping label

  • Outer packaging

  • Damaged product from multiple angles

  • Unboxing photographs or video (where available)

Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in rejection of the claim.

Sattvya reserves the right to inspect and verify all claims before approving any replacement or refund.


6. Missing Items

If any item is missing from your shipment, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

Claims submitted after this period may not be accepted.


7. Replacement Policy

Where a claim is approved, Sattvya may, at its sole discretion:

  • Replace the product;

  • Replace only the damaged component;

  • Issue store credit; or

  • Process a refund if replacement is not feasible.

Replacement is generally the preferred resolution.


8. Refund Policy

Refunds will only be processed after:

  • The returned product has been received (where applicable);

  • Inspection has been completed; and

  • The return request has been approved.

Approved refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 7–10 business days.

The actual credit timeline depends upon your bank or payment service provider.

Shipping charges, gift wrapping charges, Cash on Delivery (COD) charges and payment gateway fees (where applicable) are non-refundable unless the error was solely attributable to Sattvya.


9. Return Shipping

If the return is approved due to an error by Sattvya (such as an incorrect or damaged product), we will arrange reverse pickup where available or reimburse reasonable return shipping charges upon submission of valid proof.

For all other approved returns, return shipping costs shall be borne by the customer.


10. Product-Specific Information

Copper Products

Copper naturally develops a darker shade or patina over time due to oxidation.

This is a natural characteristic of genuine copper and is not considered a defect.


Brass Products

Brass products may naturally tarnish or change colour with exposure to air and moisture.

This is not a manufacturing defect.


Wooden Products

Wood is a natural material.

Minor differences in grain, texture, colour and finish are expected and enhance the uniqueness of each product.

Wood may also expand or contract slightly due to environmental conditions.


Ceramic Planters

Ceramic products are fragile by nature.

Minor glaze variations, firing marks and handcrafted textures are normal.

Damage caused after delivery due to dropping, impact or improper handling is not covered.


Candles

Hand-poured candles may exhibit slight frosting, colour variations, fragrance intensity differences or minor surface imperfections.

These are normal characteristics of handcrafted candles.

Candles that have been used or lit are not eligible for return.


Lampshades

Minor variations in weaving, stitching, finish or handcrafted detailing are natural.

Damage due to incorrect installation, misuse, moisture or bulb heat is not covered under this policy.


11. Bulk & Corporate Orders

Bulk, wholesale and corporate gifting orders are considered final.

Customers are encouraged to approve samples before placing large orders.

Returns or refunds for bulk orders will only be considered in cases of verified manufacturing defects or transit damage.


12. Refusal of Returns

Sattvya reserves the right to reject any return request where:

  • The request is made outside the prescribed timeline.

  • Adequate evidence is not provided.

  • The product has been used or altered.

  • The product has been intentionally damaged.

  • The returned item is incomplete.

  • The request does not comply with this policy.


13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Sattvya's total liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the product.

  • Sattvya shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or special damages, including loss of profits, business interruption or third-party claims arising from the purchase or use of our products.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights available to consumers under applicable law.


14. Force Majeure

Sattvya shall not be responsible for delays or failure in performance arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, transportation disruptions, strikes, government actions, pandemics, supplier failures or other force majeure events.


15. Changes to this Policy

Sattvya reserves the right to update or modify this Return, Refund & Replacement Policy at any time without prior notice.

The version published on the website at the time an order is placed shall apply to that order.
